The Venezuelan political leader and human rights activist was honored for her courage in the face of persecution.

Following an international search, the University of Georgia’s Murdie will step into the role of dean on June 1.

The search will be chaired by Leslie Sharp, dean of the Georgia Tech Library.

Utz will serve until a new dean is named and will begin his appointment on April 20.
